Director of Financial Reporting

Primary duties/responsibilities

·         All aspects of SEC and statutory reporting

·         Analytical review and understanding of all disclosures in US regulatory reports filed with external parties ( SEC, Insurance Depts, BE, etc)

o    Compilation and review of supporting documentation

o    Original drafting of new disclosures and updating of recurring disclosures

o    Independent “numbers-check”  and “fact-check” for all disclosures

o    XBRL

o    Maintain consistency among and between all reports, including review of reports filed by other areas with foreign regulatory bodies

o    Performance of reporting SOX controls

o    Keep abreast of new disclosure requirements

o    Coordinate with legal, IR and other areas

o    Coordinate day to day timing and comments from PwC

·         Preparation and analytical review of selected calculations and disclosures including:

o    Diluted share calculations

o    Non-GAAP measures

o    MD&A

·         Business owner of Peoplesoft general ledger module (chart of accounts, security, workflow, user acceptance testing of upgrades and improvements)

·         Business owner of Workiva reporting platform (security, access, cost management)

·         Maintain and update key controls, procedures and disclosure policies for the group

·         Prepare and analyze management and BOD reporting

·         Manage a team of 5-8 accountants

·         Manage reporting department expenses and vendor relationships

·         Ad hoc requests for information

Specific skills, competencies, resources and/or software/technology used on the job

·         Strong technical accounting skills with financial services experience

·         Highly organized – project management

·         Excellent writing skills (English)

·         Strong interpersonal skills

·         Attention  to detail, precision and timeliness

Proactive in planning tasks and coordinating with other departments

Education, certifications and/or experience requirements

    Approximately 10 years of financial reporting and accounting experience in complex accounting environment

·         Strong analytical skills

·         BS in accounting
