Senior Financial Accountant

General purpose of position

Working with the UK Financial Controller to ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual financial and regulatory reporting deliverables are met for UK based subsidiaries. The role will require a great deal of interaction with other finance team members within the group and will be responsible for ensuring a high quality of financial data is maintained for all entities.

Primary duties/responsibilities

• Calculate premium earnings and other insurance related analyses for month-end close procedures
• Prepare journal entries on a monthly basis to close the books and records for US and UK GAAP
• Execute Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls in respect of month-end and quarterly procedures
• Prepare UK GAAP analytics for the board of directors on a quarterly basis
• Prepare year-end UK GAAP financial statements,
• Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory returns and related support including Solvency 2 Pillar 3 reporting.

Education, certifications and/or experience requirements


• Qualified accountant ACCA, CIMA,  ACA or international equivalent
• Good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
• General understanding of US GAAP will be beneficial but is not essential
• 3 to 5 years experience in insurance accounting or insurance audit.
