Vice President - Investment Accounting Reporting

General purpose of position

Manage the monthly and quarterly investment accounting close and reporting process.  Prepare monthly and quarterly analyses and commentary on investment results. Ensure SOX compliance including developing, documenting, testing and reviewing controls and procedures.

Primary duties/responsibilities

Manage the monthly investment accounting close process;
Manage the preparation of quarterly financial reporting disclosures relating to investment accounting including: 10K & 10Qs; Operating Supplement; and Board Book disclosures;
Manage the preparation of Statutory investment pages, quarterly and annual Schedule D’s, footnotes and interrogatories;
Manage the preparation of Statutory audited financial statements for investments;
Accounting for Loss Mitigation and Alternative Investments;
Provide and analyze monthly and quarterly investment results;
Manage the SOX process for investment accounting group;
Coordinate internal and audit requests;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Highly organized, detail-oriented, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated teamwork skills;
Ability to function independently and effectively in a self-directed environment;
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point;
Strong analytical skills
Financial service services sector (Financial Guaranty is a plus);
Proficiency with PeopleSoft General Ledger is a plus
 

Education, certifications and/or experience requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
Minimum of 5 years in a senior level investment accounting position
