Assured Guaranty does not want anyone to be victimized by fraudulent communications or websites that use our name or appropriate the look and feel of our Site.  Identity theft, credit card fraud and other crimes often start on the Internet, where perpetrators of fraud use a variety of methods to obtain information or entice victims. These include:

  • "phishing," or the sending of so-called "spoof" emails that appear to be from a reputable, well-known company but are not. This fraudulent email may ask for personal information, including name, address and credit card number or provide a link to a web site that imitates the look and feel of that company's site and asks for such information.  These fraudulent emails and websites may also try to install malicious software on your computer that tracks your activities.
  • Fake investment proposals accompanied by websites made to look like those of legitimate companies in order to gain credibility (sometimes substituting a different company name).
  • Invitations to engage in unethical financial schemes, invoking the names of legitimate companies or their officers to appear more believable.

For your protection and ours, Assured Guaranty does not solicit personal or financial information from individuals via email.  We never request personal financial information or credit card or social security numbers, and we certainly do not ask for money.  We protect any information you provide in accordance with our privacy policy.

If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from, or mentioning, Assured Guaranty or any of its subsidiaries or their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents, representatives or licensors, please do NOT respond or open any attachments. Instead, forward it to abuse@assuredguaranty.com.
