Assured Guaranty Makes Charitable Contributions to Support Humanitarian Aid for the People of Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has caused a massive humanitarian crisis, with millions fleeing their homes and country. Assured Guaranty Ltd. and its subsidiaries (Assured Guaranty) is committed to supporting efforts to provide aid to those Ukrainians in need. To that end, Assured Guaranty has contributed a total of $100,000 ($25,000 each) to the following four charities, which are all engaged in efforts to alleviate the suffering of victims of this war.

World Central Kitchen 

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (wck.org) provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises while working to build resilient food systems with locally led solutions. It has served more than 60 million fresh meals to people impacted by natural disasters and other crises around the world. World Central Kitchen is serving thousands of fresh meals to Ukrainian families fleeing their homes. 

Airlink

Airlink (airlinkflight.org) is a nonprofit organization working with aviation and logistics partners to transport relief workers and emergency supplies for reputable non-governmental organizations (NGOs) responding to rapid-onset disasters and other humanitarian crises around the globe. Airlink is connecting with humanitarian, logistics, and airline partners in the region to send relief supplies while continually assessing needs and response capabilities – and also identifying flight options on commercial carriers in the region for passenger movement. 

UNICEF USA

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) (unicefusa.org) has built a global support system for the world’s children. The rapidly escalating conflict in Ukraine has, according to UNICEF estimates, caused the number of people in humanitarian need to increase dramatically with an estimated 12 million civilians in need of urgent support within the country, including around 2.1 million children. UNICEF is scaling up its efforts to respond to the growing humanitarian needs across Ukraine and the surrounding region.

International Rescue Committee 

The mission of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) (rescue.org) is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. IRC is working with partners to assist arriving refugees in Poland and also working with partners inside Ukraine, supporting the evacuation of women and children and providing emergency aid to those who had to flee their homes.

Assured Guaranty wishes the people of Ukraine a safe and speedy return to their homes and homeland. In the meantime, Assured Guaranty supports ongoing humanitarian efforts to help those displaced by the war.
