Assured Life Reinsurance Ltd. (Assured Life Re) is Assured Guaranty’s life and annuity reinsurance platform. It offers reinsurance to life insurers on fixed-term and pension-based annuities, helping them increase their capacity to write new business and better manage portfolio risk profiles.
Assured Life Re’s primary focus is on reinsuring fixed-term annuities, e.g., multi-year guaranteed annuities (MYGA), and pension risk transfer (PRT) annuities. This specialization leverages Assured Guaranty’s established expertise in life insurance capital management and its asset management experience.
The Assured Life Re platform combines:
- Assured Guaranty’s core strengths in credit and structured finance
- Its decades of experience managing its own multibillion-dollar investment portfolio
- Its long-standing track record providing financial guaranty services to the life insurance sector
- The operational infrastructure and capabilities of the life reinsurance professionals of the former Warwick Re Limited, which Assured Guaranty acquired in January 2026.
Assured Guaranty expects that certain of Assured Life Re’s reinsurance obligations to ceding life insurers will be covered by a guarantee issued by Assured Guaranty Re Overseas Ltd., its AA-rated affiliate; adding AA financial strength to select obligations is an innovation that sets Assured Life Re apart from other annuity reinsurers.
Assured Life Re operates as a Bermuda Class E long-term (life) reinsurance company, regulated by the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
