Information Security Administrator

General purpose of position

The goal of information security is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets. The information security team is responsible for defining and implementing security policy and standards and continuously monitoring for new threats. The Information Security Administrator is part of the information security team, reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, and is responsible for provisioning and recertifying access to the company’s critical information assets.

Primary duties/responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Information Security Administrator include:

•                     Provisioning security access requests

•                     Performing access recertifications

•                     Performing automated network vulnerability scans

•                     Managing privileged access

•                     Monitoring security events

•                     Monitoring patch management compliance

•                     Delivering user training and communications

•                     Responding to security incidents

•                     Coordinating disaster recovery tests

•                     Reviewing security access controls of new applications and systems

•                     Performing email discovery and data searches

•                     Performing vendor reviews

Specific skills, competencies, resources and/or software/technology used on the job

·         Good understanding of information security principles and enterprise technologies.

·         Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and written.

·         Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification a plus.

Education, certifications and/or experience requirements

  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information systems, or other related field.

·         1-3 years of related work experience.

·         Experience with access provisioning for technologies such as Active Directory, Windows, SharePoint, SQL Server or PeopleSoft.
